Ok so I just noticed that Tumblr already has a section entitled “Stuff I Like.”  God damn you tumblr for giving me so many outlets to display all the stuffage that I indulge in.

I guess I’ll post a song for now.  65daysofstatic represents everything I love about post-rock from the progressive songs to the strange and sometimes downright weird time signatures.  This song featuring goth guru Robert Smith from The Cure (fun fact: He asked them to open for The Cure on their tour, this band’s biggest American tour yet) just displays how far this band has come from their original inception (anyone else feel like this word has been used more due to that movie).  While the previous albums showcased loud distorted guitars and experimental sounds, this song along with the album have a more contemporary side with influences from alt-rock and techno, along with some really well done vocals by Robert Smith.

This was one of my favorite bands early in college.  The past few years they fizzled out of my playlist but now they are back in, reminding me why I liked them so much in the first place.  Rediscovering your old favorite bands is a great feeling.

Ok so I think I figured what I’m going to use this tumblr for.  Pretty much just stuff I like.  Rather than get into fights on Facebook with people about littering their newsfeeds (like I really care about the new shoes you got with your bestie at the mall), Ill just post it here for people to look at at their leisure.

Hello all.  I guess I finally made a tumblr.  I’m not sure what exactly I’m going to use this for, but for now I will just post this picture of a guitar I’ve been wanting for a while.

It’s a white Ibanez ART100.  It may seem like a nothing special $300 guitar, but it is one of the few guitars in this price range that uses all mahogany wood, which is usually reserved for more expensive guitars.  I also love the Gibson Les Paul look along with the tribal inlay on the 12th fret.  The only problems are with the pickups, which are some cheap stock Ibanez pickups slapped on.  Another $150 for some Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio pickups and you will have a $1000 guitar for only $450 total.
